Elijah
came to the people speaking to them about choosing God and Baal and they
couldn't answer a word because they have been addicted to Baal. There have been
certain things that Baal has been doing for them so they had been addicted to
him and couldn't even choose God over baa. Elijah told them to make ready two
bulls for sacrifice, one for them and one for the LORD. they called down fore
but nothing came and it was Elijah's turn to call upon the LORD that HE may
answer with Fire. He called down fire and it came and consumed everything on
the Altar; on the altar we see that everything was consumed. On the altar there
were Rocks, a Bull, Water, Wood and Dust. These things were not just there for
no reason; the bull was a form of sacrifice, meaning the Israelites had to
sacrifice their Flesh to God as a Living Sacrifice unto the LORD before they
can see the Power of God. Just as Paul admonishes the Romans to offer their
bodies as a living sacrifice Holy and Acceptable unto the LORD(Romans 12:1).
So, it is for us, if indeed we want to see the Power of God to its fullest, if
we want the LORD to answer us immediately when we call out unto Him then we
must offer our bodies unto Him as a Living Sacrifice that is Holy and
Acceptable unto the Him, which is our reasonable service. Many believers are
not seeing the Power of God and are doubting because they have not offered
their bodies unto the LORD. SO, fire coming down to consume the bull's flesh
was to tell them that for them to see the Glory of God again, they should offer
themselves as living a sacrifice which the LORD accepts. There was also Water,
Dust, Wood and Rock which were all also burnt. The people of Israel as we know,
their hearts are like the waters which can easily be directed and swayed away,
Water can be directed from flowing through its normal path. A water flowing in
one direction can be diverted to flow in a certain pattern and that was how the
Israelites were, they are easily swayed away from the LORD their God. So are
many of us, our hearts are like the waters which are easily directed away from
the LORD. So, some of us, the devil just needs to bring troubles to us because
we are easily swayed by these things. He just makes good use of these and he
easily gets us. he thought it was the same with everyman and that was why he
tried that on Job and it didn't work. Are you like the water that is easily
directed away from the LORD? Gehazi was easily directed by money and material
possessions and he lost everything that was actually meant for him in the Will
of the LORD. So was Samson swayed away easily by Lust to give away that which
made him who he was. Some of us, the way we are desperate for marriages, the
devil just has to bring us a partner and he manages to sway us from the LORD.
Just know that the devil is never foolish as we always think and say, but he is
cunning as the Bible describes in Genesis 3. The LORD has to causes a
Transformation by burning away that nature which causes them to easily be
swayed in order to turn them back to Himself. So, if we really want to be with
God and see His Power, we shouldn't be easily swayed away as well. We see that
there was also Stones which were actually twelve in representation of the
twelve tribes of Israel. This can also be in relation to a stumbling block
because it was also burned as well, we see that there was wood too. These two
are a bit related, because wood easily catches fire but Rocks do not easily get
burnt like that. The wood was something in the Israelites that easily responds
to the things of the World as Paul will say to the Hebrews that we should lay
aside every weight and every sin that easily besets us. The Rocks are that
which adds weight to them and the woods are that which easily besets them. They
added certain things to their Walk with God that caused them to become heavy
and even grew weary of serving their LORD. As we know, Idol worship was not
something they were supposed to do but when famine came, they responded easily
to idol worship and that made them slaves to Baal. Some of us, the devil just
needs to bring hunger and he will get us easily because there is something in
us that easily responds to that, he just needs to bring a woman with curves and
we are finished, he just needs to bring money and we will respond to that.
Because that is the wood in us which can easily catch that fire. And when he
needs us to fall, he also needs to place a stumbling block before us and we
will fall. As we see, the Water, Rock and Woods are related because they are
serving as things that sway us from the LORD. We are easily convinced (water),
we easily respond to certain things of the world and situations (Wood) and that
thing becomes a stumbling block(rock) for us serving God. The fire consumed the
dust, the more of dust on our altar, there is a high probability that the fire on our altar will die out is
very high. That was even one reason why the priest has to clear the altar of
every ash. The LORD also consumed the dust to make them know that they
shouldn't trust in that which is from the earth but from Him who is above
because HE has the Power over everything on the earth. Are you having all? the
Rocks, Woods, Water, Dust and Flesh? If yes, then let the Fire of GOD consume
it that you may see the glory of God in its fullest.
